2.0 EXTRACTION AND GREASING OF THE CARTRIDGE BEARING
This step is mandatory.
The bearing holder cartridge can be easily removed from the housing tube to carry out ordinary maintenance (e.g.: cleaning and greasing of the bearings) and extraordinary (e.g.: possible replacement of worn bearings).
To counteract the oxidation of the parts and facilitate the extraction and insertion of the cartridge over time, it is advisable to lubricate both the external side of the cartridge and the internal side of the housing tube with SILICONE GREASE.
DO NOT dirty the outside of the housing tube and the upper faces with grease.
2.1 EXTRACT THE CARTRIDGE FROM THE HOUSING TUBE

2.2 GREASE THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE AND THE INSIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE HOUSING TUBE
This operation is extremely important in order to prevent any water in the cement leaking into the cartridge and will also facilitate removal of the cartridge bearing for maintenance.
ATTENTION: DO NOT APPLY GREASE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSING TUBE.
2° Apply silicone grease to the outside of the cartridge.

3.0 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE IN THE FLOOR
2° Carefully read and follow all the instructions step by step.
3° Before installing, make sure that the characteristics of the floor are suited to the method of fitting.
4° Before installing, make sure that there are no water, heating or electricity conduits underneath the installation point.
5° Work with care, using quality materials and tools.
6° In any case, refer to the technical specifications of the product used for fixing (resin or other).

3.1 DRILL A HOLE IN THE FLOOR
IMPORTANT! If the depth of the paving material is less that the depth of the hole, it is FUNDAMENTAL that the layer of gravel beneath is stabilised with epoxy resin or cement in order to provide a SOLID BASE and a STURDY PERIMETER that is even for the entire depth of the hole.
Follow point 3.1.1 to install the cartridge flush with the floor.
Follow point 3.1.2 to install the cartridge with a cap.

3.1.1 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE FLUSH WITH THE FLOOR
Drill a hole in the chosen position with a diamond hollow drill or core drill of 100 mm (4 inches = 101 mm) in diameter.
The hole must be 125 - 130 mm deep.
It is presumed that the floor is perfectly flat and that the finished hole is at right angles to the floor.
The overall height of the assembled tube is 121 mm.
REMEMBER:
In the event of an uneven and unstable gravel foundation: DO NOT PROCEED without stabilising!
Foundation well stabilised with resin or cement: CONTINUE with the following steps.

3.1.2 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE WITH A CAP
Drill the hole in the chosen point using a diamond cup cutter, or core drill, with a diameter of 100mm (4inch = 10mm).
The overall height of the assembled tube is 121 mm.
The hole must be a depth of 125 - 130 mm + the thickness of the cap (take care when calculating the total depth).
The cap must have the same diameter as the hole and will hide the cartridge from sight and avoid tripping when the equipment is not in use.
It is presumed that the floor is perfectly flat and that the finished hole is at right angles to the floor.

REMEMBER:
In the event of an uneven and unstable gravel foundation: DO NOT PROCEED without stabilising!
Foundation well stabilized with resin or cement: CONTINUE with the following steps.

4.0 FITTING THE CARTRIDGE INTO POSITION
To fix the cartridge inside the hole, we recommend the use of two-part epoxy resin.
Before laying, it is recommended to make sure that the contents of the cartridge/bottle/bag are sufficient to complete the job.
If the previous steps have been performed correctly, the volume to be filled is approximately 400 mL.
ALSO EVALUATE THE HARDENING TIMES OF THE CHOSEN PRODUCT and the maximum casting thicknesses recommended by the manufacturer, and possibly adjust the management of the subsequent phases accordingly.
AT THE TIME OF LAYING:
The hole in the floor must be clean and free of dust to maximize resin adhesion.
To prevent accidental infiltrations of resin into the system from damaging it irreversibly, completely cover the upper side of the tube and cartridge with paper tape, making sure beforehand that there are no traces of grease or dirt that could limit or render ineffective the adhesion of the tape.
4.1 CAREFULLY SEAL THE UPPER END OF THE HOUSING TUBE
It is fundamental that the product used to fill the hole does not in any way enter the cartridge or the tube. In order to avoid this happening, thus avoiding any consequential damage to the product, it is necessary to carefully seal the upper end of the tube with sealing tape before pouring the product into the hole.
The bottom end of the tube is already sealed and requires no further intervention.

4.2 INSERT THE HOUSING TUBE INTO THE HOLE
This operation is extremely important. If the cartridge is crooked when fitted it will not be possible to remove it and straighten it.
The housing tube must be installed perfectly straight, otherwise the pole will not turn properly and problems with installation will be experienced. Check that the tube is upright in all directions.
Level the bottom of the hole with a small quantity of product (4-9 mm) and insert the cartridge into the hole; this step is IMPORTANT in guaranteeing a solid and even base for the cartridge; the thickness of the layer must be calibrated in such a manner as to ensure that the upper end of the cartridge is in the desired position.
If the product used (e.g., resin) is particularly fluid, place a number of small rigid shims under the base to avoid sinking.

4.3 FILL THE LOWER HALF OF THE HOLE WITH THE ANCHORING AGENT
Fill the bottom half of the hole with resin.
Place the supplied square tube on the upper side of the cartridge and use it as a support for the level.
Check the perfect horizontality of the system in several positions, stabilizing or correcting the position with the four plastic wedges supplied.
It is recommended to wait for the product to harden, if possible.

4.4 REMOVE THE WEDGES AND FILL THE REMAINING SPACE
Remove the wedges and fill the remaining volume with product, reaching the desired height.
Level and finish the casting if necessary.
Allow resin to FULLY cure before removing tape and using equipment.

5.0 INSERTING THE CARTRIDGE BEARING INTO THE HOUSING TUBE
Before proceeding, make sure that the fixing agent has hardened completely.
1° Remove the tape from the top of the housing tube.
2° Grip the cartridge bearing via the M5 screws and insert it into the housing tube, positioning it correctly by aligning the holes.
3° When the holes are aligned, unscrew the M5 screws and remove them completely.

5.2 TIGHTEN THE LOCKING SCREWS

THE CARTRIDGE IS NOW INSTALLED AND THE POLE CAN BE INSERTED
6.0 MAINTENANCE
6.1 Cleaning the pole
GeckoGrip Pole: plain alcohol (preferably isopropyl) on a microfibre cloth.
Stainless Steel Pole: water and ammonia (5%) on a microfibre cloth.
Ultragrip2 Pole: MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) on a lint-free cotton cloth
While cleaning use personal protective equipment. It is advisable to ventilate the area after cleaning the pole.
6.2 Lubricating the bearings
The operation can be carried out in complete autonomy (write to
The frequency of lubrication depends on the frequency of use of the pole and the level of cleanliness of the area. If no particular requirement emerges and the pole is used occasionally, yearly lubricating is necessary. In the event of more intense use, contact our Technical Support Service.
