Rawlplugs for fixed installation (necessary for the PRO model, only if to be fitted with screws, and mandatory for XXL model). The rawplugs must be chosen according to the ceiling and the floor (consult with an expert).

3.0 ASSEMBLY (VALID FOR ALL MODELS)

Take care when unpacking the poles and components in order to not damage the pole coating. Pole assembly should be carried out on the ground.
Place the pole sections horizontally on the ground and kneel in front of them in order to begin assembly.

3.1 FIT THE UPPER PLATE TO THE UPPER POLE SECTION

1° Place the upper plate on the floor and, holding the upper section vertically, slot it onto the pin, pressing it down to the stop point.
2° Check that the plate is fully inserted
Image

3.2 SCREW THE LOWER PLATE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LOWER POLE SECTION

1° Lower the QuickSpin2 (static pole position) and rotate the safety ring clockwise to approximately 1 cm from the Quickspin2 ring.
2° Screw the lower plate into the lower pole section by turning it clockwise until it is almost touching the safety ring.
Image

3.3 CONNECT THE POLE SECTIONS AND TIGHTEN THE SCREWS ON THE CENTRAL JOINT

1° In a horizontal position, unite the two parts of the pole, aligning the holes.
2° Use the 5 mm hexagonal spanner to thoroughly tighten the screws, turning clockwise.
Image

4.0 PRESSURE INSTALLATION: FOR ALL MODELS

The pole must rest on a perfectly horizontal, solid, non-elastic, even and flat surface.
Make sure that the contact surfaces can withstand a pressure of approximately 350 kg and that the pole is installed in the point at which measurements were taken before ordering.
The pole has a tolerance of -1 +4 cm with respect to the indicated height.
Clean the floor in order to remove any dust.
The rubber pads on the underside of the pole plates must be kept clean and grease-free with the use of alcohol. The pads are held in place without the use of chemical glues. In the event of detachment, they can be re-fixed with double-sided tape.
N.B.: In the event that the Safety Plate has been purchased, see the specific instructions.
Image

4.1 PLACE THE POLE VERTICALLY IN THE PRE-ESTABLISHED POSITION AND EXTEND IT UNTIL IT IS IN CONTACT WITH THE CEILING

Place the pole vertically in the point in which it is to be installed (taking care not to damage light fittings, walls or any surrounding furnishings).
Once in position, while resting the base on the floor, grip the pole midway along its length and turn it anticlockwise.
The pole will begin to extend and the upper plate will rise towards the ceiling or the Safety Plate. As soon as the upper plate on the pole comes into contact with the ceiling or the Safety Plate, stop and ensure that the pole is perfectly vertical.
Image

4.2 CHECK HEIGHT

The height regulation screws must not be excessively exposed. Insert the 5 mm hex key into the inspection hole located on the lower part of the lower pole section:
1° if the hex key stops against the internal screw, installation has been carried out correctly.
2° if the hex key passes through the hole on the opposite side, the pole is NOT secure. This means that in the point in which the pole has been positioned, the height of the ceiling is more than that indicated in the order. Try to move the pole to another point in the room before contacting the manufacturer.
Image

4.3 PLACE THE POLE IN A PERFECTLY VERTICAL POSITION AND TIGHTEN IT AGAINST THE CEILING

This operation is very important as it will allow the pole to function correctly.
Set the pole in a perfectly vertical position by moving the base in the appropriate direction along the two perpendicular axes:
- first back and forth
- then laterally
When the pole is in a perfectly vertical position, grip it with both hands and turn it slowly anticlockwise in order to properly fix the upper plate against the ceiling.
The pole should not be excessively tightened, as otherwise the elevated pressure may slow the spin speed.
Image

4.4 STABILITY CHECK

Grip the pole with both hands and shake it in order to ensure that the pole does not shift position, and then move on to the next check.
If the pole moves, and is therefore no longer perfectly vertical, grip the pole, turn it clockwise to lower it, and then repeat point 4.2, tightening a little more than before, and repeat the stability check.

4.5 ROTATION FLUIDITY CHECK

Lift the QuickSpin2 ring (spinning position) and rotate the pole in order to test the fluidity of the spin. If it spins freely, move on to the next step.

Image
ATTENTION
If rotation is uneven, check that the pole has been set in a perfectly vertical position (point 4.2). If rotation is forced and/or not sufficiently fluid, lower the QuickSpin2 ring to the static position, slightly loosen the pole by turning it just a few degrees clockwise and then repeat points 4.3 and 4.4.

4.6 TIGHTENING THE SAFETY SCREWS

1° Once the checks in 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 have been successfully completed, turn the safety ring anticlockwise until the screws come into contact with the pole
2° Position the 8 mm spanner correctly and tighten the hexagonal screws (safety screws) by turning them clockwise
Tighten the screws in an alternating manner, first tightening them both lightly, and then with increased force. Tighten the screws with appropriate force. Excessive force may cause damage.
Image

4.7 CHECK FOR CORRECT TIGHTENING

Lower the QuickSpin2 ring to the static position and check that the pole does not turn by attempting to turn it in an anticlockwise direction.

5.0 INSTALLATION VIA SCREWS IN THE CEILING AND/OR FLOOR: VARIANT AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PRO MODEL

With the XXL version, it is possible to fix the pole to the ceiling and/or floor via the 6 mm holes on the plates.
With the PRO version, it is possible to fix the pole plates to the ceiling and/or floor via the 6 mm holes on the plates.
Once point 4.7 is complete, use a pencil to mark the position where the screws for the ceiling and/or floor should be placed, and then dismantle the pole (section 7.0).
Drill holes in the marked positions and insert the rawlplugs.
Install the pole (section 4.0), aligning the holes on the plates with the holes drilled in the floor/ceiling.
Screw the plates to the floor/ceiling.
Image

6.0 OPERATION OF THE QUICKSPIN2 SYSTEM

To use the pole in either spinning or static modes, lower or lift the QuickSpin2 ring.
QuickSpin2 ring lowered: static pole
QuickSpin2 ring lifted: spinning pole
Image

6.1 BLOCKING THE QUICKSPIN SYSTEM

In order to block the QuickSpin2 ring in either of the 2 positions (spinning or static), use the grub screw and the 4 mm hex key.
1° Lock QuickSpin2 in the spinning position: lift the QuickSpin2 ring, insert the grub screw in the free hole and tighten it fully with the 4 mm hex key. Unscrew the grub screw in order to free the QuickSpin2.
2° Lock QuickSpin2 in the static position: lift the QuickSpin2 ring, insert the grub screw in the free hole and tighten it fully with the 4 mm hex key. Unscrew the grub screw in order to free the QuickSpin2.
Image

6.2 PAY ATTENTION NOT TO TOUCH THE SLOTTED SCREWS

Do not move the screws indicated in the figure

Image

7.0 DISMANTLING THE POLE

7.1 LOOSEN THE SAFETY SCREWS WITHOUT UNSCREWING THEM COMPLETELY AND LOWER THE SAFETY RING

1° Position the 8 mm spanner correctly on the safety screws in order to avoid damage. Loosen the safety screws by turning them clockwise
2° Turn the safety ring clockwise to move it close to the QuickSpin2
Image

7.2 LOWER THE QUICKSPIN2 INTO THE STATIC POSITION AND TURN THE POLE CLOCKWISE UNTIL IT DETACHES FROM THE CEILING.

Handle the pole with the utmost attention in order to ensure that it does not fall.

7.3 REMOVE THE POLE, RESTING IT ON THE GROUND OR ON THE DEDICATED RACK

paying attention not to allow it to fall and not to collide with furniture or other objects.
If rested in a vertical position, make sure it is suitably anchored in such a way that it will not fall if accidentally knocked.

8.0 PRE-USE CHECKS

8.1 BEFORE USE, ALWAYS check that the central joint of the pole is adequately tightened.
8.2 Always carry out the checks in points 4.3, 4.5 and 4.6 before use.
8.3 Each time the pole is installed, check that the floor and the rubber pads under the pole plates are perfectly clean.
8.4 In the presence of children, pay extra attention also during installation and handling.

9.0 MAINTENANCE

9.1 Cleaning the pole
GeckoGrip Pole: plain alcohol (preferably isopropyl) on a microfibre cloth.
Stainless Steel Pole: water and ammonia (5%) on a microfibre cloth.
Ultragrip2 Pole: MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) on a lint-free cotton cloth
While cleaning use personal protective equipment. It is advisable to ventilate the area after cleaning the pole.
9.2 Lubricating the bearings
This can be carried out in a completely autonomous manner (contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for the instruction video) or at the ThePole headquarters with the Pole Maintenance service consultable on the website www.thepole.it.
The frequency of lubrication depends on the frequency of use of the pole and the level of cleanliness of the area. If no particular requirement emerges and the pole is used occasionally, yearly lubricating is recommended. In the event of more intense use, contact our Technical Support Service.

11.0 TROUBLESHOOTING

11.1 THE POLE TURNS SLOWLY
Excessive pressure may have been applied to the pole during installation: reduce pressure, see point 4.4
11.2 THE LOWER POLE PLATE SLIPS
Check that the rubber pads on the underside of the pole plates and the floor are perfectly clean, see point 8.2
11.3 THE POLE TURNS NOISILY
Check that the pole is in a perfectly vertical position (point 4.2)
Check that the floor and ceiling are parallel. If this is not the case, try and move the pole a few centimetres.
If the problem persists, it may be necessary to lubricate the pole bearings (point 9.2)
11.4 THE QUICKSPIN2 SYSTEM IS BLOCKED
Check that the optional screw has not been inserted and that the slotted screws have not been touched (point 6.1)
Check that the pole is in a perfectly vertical position (point 4.2)
11.5 THE RUBBER PADS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POLE HAVE DETACHED
The pads are installed without the use of chemical glues. In the event of their detaching, in order to reposition them clean the contact area and use normal double-sided adhesive tape (spare pads are supplied with double-sided tape on the back).
11.6 THE PRESSURE OF THE POLE BETWEEN THE CEILING AND THE FLOOR HAS REDUCED FOLLOWING INSTALLATION
Check that the floor and ceiling are solid (point 4.0).
In the case of laminated parquet fitted with expanded polyethylene film, the pockets of air inside the polyethylene compress, causing the pole to lose pressure. When this happens, loosen the safety screws and rotate the pole anticlockwise a few degrees in order to restore the correct level of pressure, as per points 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6 In any case, we recommend installation of the Safety Plate.
11.7 THE POLE UNSCREWS WHEN IN STATIC MODE
Check the correct tightening of the safety screws as per points 4.5 and 4.6
11.8 THE GECKOGRIP AND STAINLESS STEEL POLES ARE MORE SLIPPERY THAN IN OTHER INSTALLATIONS
Clean the poles as per point 9.1
If the problem persists, check other aspects, such as an excessively damp external environment, sweating, etc. In the event that a defect is suspected, contact customer service as per the terms and conditions of sale.
11.9 When the product is not in use, check that it is stored in a safe position.
